Choosing the right counsellor for you

Choosing the right counsellor for you

The therapeutic relationship is a key factor in the success of counselling, and it is important to find the right counsellor for you. The relationship is based on trust, respect, care and autonomy. If you choose to work with me, we will take time at our first meeting to understand your expectation of the process and establish how we will work, review progress and reach an ending.

I'm known to most people as Charlie and have been employed as a full-time counsellor since 2014; working with adults and children, both one to one and facilitating therapeutic groups.  Prior to this I spent over ten years working for the Youth Offending Service, in the field of conflict resolution, behaviour change programmes and parenting support; all of which required a strong, supportive working relationship with clients.

Along side my work within organisations, I also have a private practice offering counselling support for a range of issues.  I work with clients both face to face and online, using Zoom.  This is a confidential encrypted app that is free to use and easy to download, should this be your preferred option I am happy to help you get set up to use this for our appointments.
My aim is to offer you a warm and welcoming space, in which you can explore your concerns, discover a deeper understanding of yourself, and a renewed sense of self worth.  This in turn builds confidence as you move forward.

Please feel free to email or call me to explore working together and answer any queries you may have.
